J thinks that there is a need for him to blog about this. And OJ is surprise that this will be their first blog ever. Every day, J travels 68km to and fro from work. To avoid traffic jam after office hour is impossible but J experienced an unfortunate event. J was stucked in a multilevel car park! It took him 20 minutes from fifth floor to the car park exit. This 20 minutes matters to J. Who wish to spend 20 minutes jam after work at the car park? For sure is NOT J. Maybe it doesn’t bother you, but it did bother J. Here, J would like to pin point the culprit of the jam but not going to talk about how frustrated he is in traffic jam. IT IS SO ABSURD AND RIDICULOUS when you found out the cause of jam.

Just in case you don't know, Malaysia is a LEFT HAND TRAFFIC country. One needs to keep to the left side of the road unless under unforeseeable circumstances where you need to overtake some “fast” moving cars.

For decades, OJ Street had been a TWO-WAY street. After exit the car park, you will go to a cross road if you take the right turn and you will go to a T-junction if you take the left turn. People get used to it it for decades and they have 3 options to reach their destinations (as in Image 1, the A, B & C routes). It diverges and hence avoids traffic congestion after office hour.

About 2 weeks ago, the authority had changed their mind. Instead of a TWO-WAY Street, they transformed it into a ONE-WAY STREET (don’t ask me why, I’m lost too). Since then, the OJ Street turn up as shown in image 2. IT BECAME A TWO LANE ONE-WAY STREET. So, as a normal human being, people have to drive smartly instead of blindly in this situation . What does J means by driving BLINDLY? Yes, no doubt, for decades it had been a two-way street and people had 3 routes to choose (as in image 1). And for route C, one will have to keep to the left lane no matter he/she would like to turn left, right or go straight at the cross road.

BUT, since now it had become a TWO LANE one-way street, you got to be SMART la (as image 2). From THREE routes became FREAKING ONE ROUTE, it also means now people only have ONE FREAKING way to get home. Here, you don’t routinize it like what you did for the past decades as shown in Image 2 (the highlighted route). Everyone is following the old school style even after the changed of the road condition. People opted for and follow blindly what the rest are doing. They chose the HIGHLIGHTED ROUTE, THE ROUTE WHERE EVERYONE TAKES.

BOOM….. Here comes the car piling up slowly until the second or third floor of the multilevel car park where they got stuck at the cross road! If this situation is not absurd you, then please… please don’t ever drive. For J, this is a freaking serious issue.

J still remembers during his secondary school time, he was taught to challenge the road less taken by others. Hence, J would like to make some point here in which may help you to drive smartly instead of blindly. Yes, now you only left the only highlighted route to get to your home. But, please remember that, it is now a TWO LANE one-way street. So, first you can make the highlighted route into route D & E. Both route D & E can go straight and turn left [D] or right [E]. THIS IS A WIN WIN SITUATION! Secondly, J found out that most people would take the left / go straight and seldom people take the right. Hence, J will highly recommend those who want to go straight at the cross road PLEASE TAKE ROUTE E. Trust J, this will avoid the jam. Eventually, you will find out the road less taken is not challenging at all and it save your time on traffic.

Good day.
