A "TTT" Trip to Singapore

By chance, OJ had the opportunity to travel to Johor, Malaysia. J was attending conference while O was spending most of her time in Thistle Hotel to enjoy those facilities provided by Thistle Hotel. As a wise person, we did bring along our PASSPORT. Ya, one might think that we are stupid to visit Singapore at this moment as the currency hikes like nobody business (RM3 - $ 1 RIDICULOUS!!!). To be honest, OJ only decide to go Singapore 2 days before the trip.

But the most important part is, HOW TO VISIT SINGAPORE WITHOUT HAVING A SINGLE SING DOLLAR? So, it is a trip where one put Trust to Test (TTT). So, these are some criteria could make this trip happen;

1. Do you have Family members working / staying in Singapore?

2. Do you have friends who are working / staying in Singapore?

3. Is he/she a good tour guide?

4. How strong are you guys BONDED?

5. Is he/she available?

6. Is he/she RICH ENOUGH to cover your expenses in Singapore?

7. Is he/she trust-able?

You might asking me: what the hack, I need to answer 7 questions before I'm able to visit Singapore? NO, if you are going in with Sing Dollar but YES FOR THOSE PLAN TO GO IN WITHOUT ANY SING DOLLAR to 骗吃骗喝。

J had prioritized these questions. It is very obvious that you need a friend/family member in Singapore so that they can tag along with you. They must be able to recommend you the good foods & point to interest to visit in Singapore. If he/she is not able to suggest you any place to visit, then most probably you will ended up sitting in a cafe & browse your facebook for the whole day. J believes that bonding & availablity are interrelated. One might just act/try to be busy to reject you if you guys are not well bonded [eg: will you bring or tag along with your nemesis?]. Everything is about money, you need to spend money on meal & bus back to Johor as well. Hence, is your friend generous enough to sponsor you for the whole trip? haha... this is a crucial part ooo... is he/she can't sponsor, then you can't go in Singapore. Lastly, is he/she can be trusted? is he/she will not break his/her promise? Is either you ended up standing like an idiot at the bus stop or you have a blast in Singapore.

Okay, here is what happened during OJ's one day trip to Singapore. OJ didn't plan to do anything since it was a very short trip with a super short notice to O's brother [Luckily they are well bonded, if not...haha]. So OJ decided to visit Gardens by The Bay. A garden in the midst of concrete jungle. That's the one and only plan. We do not have any back up plan in case of rain... TRUST!

The journey of TRUST began:

SATURDAY 12pm - Thistle Hotel Free Shuttle to City Square - Cross the road to Sultan Iskandar Complex Customs - take CW 2 bus (RM3.40 / pax) - Singapore Customs - Bugis Bus Station - total time spent 2 hours.

In S's customs immigration, the crowd was not as pack as Johor's custom but it was SLOWER for them to process the document check. Perhaps they are just being vigilant.

Damn, no familiar face at Bugis bus station upon arrival. So O called her brother... Guess what................... He ............... DID answered her call. Phewww.... OJ not even activate their credit card. So OJ walked to Bugis Junction to meet O's brother & it took OJ about 5 minutes to walk there.

First: EAT... EAT... EAT

The Curry Puff

The Green Tea Cola [hmm... NOTHING SPECIAL.. felt cheated & disappointed]

The Summer Ramen [the shop provide some options to make it suit the taste you like. OJ opted for MILD]

Second: Walk Walk Walk

OJ straight headed to Gardens by The Bay after finished their late lunch. OJ visited the conservatories & supertrees groove.

Walking in Garden [Flower Dome Conservatory]

J named it as: The Half Body [nice statues but it looks creepy when light on, Flower Dome Conservatory]

The Lily [Flower Dome Conservatory]

Plant with Magnifying Glasses [Cloud Forest Conservatory]

The Bridge 1 [Cloud Forest Conservatory]

The Bridge 2 [Cloud Forest Conservatory]

Supertree Groove [The main attraction for J]

The Eye of Singapore + Marathon

The Real Supertree Groove

The Real Supertree Groove + OCBC Skywalk

Honestly speaking, Cloud Forest Conservatory is the best & you may just go for this conservatory only (if you trust OJ, cause it will help you to save some entrance fee). Do remember check for the Misting Time... You will be amazed. It is FREE for the supertree groove visit & also the Garden Rhapsody. Don't be surprised when you see many of them sitting on the ground or even lying on. You may need to check for their schedule on the official website of Gardens by the bay & make sure you have the RIGHT & NICE spot to enjoy the rhapsody. Sadly, OJ ended their trip with regret. OJ missed the OCBC Skywalk due to long queue & the authority decided to close the ticket booth. One thing for sure, OJ will be back for the Skywalk in near future....

And Merry Christmas...

Merry Christmas from Supertree Groove
