DIY Bouquet

Headache of planning for weekend? Phobia of traffic jam? Agoraphobia? Yet feel like wanna spend some money?

Well, OJ have a great idea. Why not have fun with DIY bouquet? You spent, you decorate & fill your leisure time with something meaningful + fun! (either alone or with your spouse)

Thanks to google, have a search & get some rough idea on what type of bouquet you would like to do. For OJ, we planned to have something with colour that is not too pop nor dull. Hence, OJ decided to have a mix of Artificial + Dried Flower bouquet. Honestly, OJ have no idea on how it will look like for the end product. Wish OJ luck!

Materials:

Green color adhesive tape, artificial flowers*, dried flowers*, rope, scissor, plyer, rubber band and empty Choya Bottle.

Where to get the materials?

OJ went to A tu Z Wedding House to hunt for materials. It is a One-Stop Wedding Shop, you can get anything you want in their shop with reasonable price.

The Peony + Roses

Step-by-step For DIY Bouquet:

1. Cover working desk with some newspapers or cloth. Arrange all the materials you are going to use on it.

2. Decide which flower to be the center of attraction. For OJ, we choose the Poeny with sharper color so that it could stand out from the rest.

3. Decide which flowers play as supporting role. OJ opted for roses with lighter in color compare to the Poeny.

4. Arrange the flowers together in a way that it able to draw people attraction to the Poeny (our main role for this bouquet) in an empty wine bottle (as long as it is tall enough & can support your flowers weight). After arranged (as shown at above), OJ found out that the leaves are just too messy & not what OJ want. So OJ decided to trimmed off all the leaves.

5. Fern is what OJ long for. The pattern of the fern is just right. Hence, OJ do some modification. OJ cut of the fern by using a PLYER then attached it on the stalks of roses & poeny. It depends on how bulky you want. After some try & error sessions, OJ decided to attach 6 ferns on the roses & poeny stalks. (this is how it looks like after simple modification)

Doesn't it looks GREAT?!

6. Okay! Now is time to decorate it with the rest of dried flowers. OJ planned to surround the Poeny + Roses bouquet with the dried flowers. It should be able to draw people's attraction to the poeny & roses.

7. So OJ decorated it with TWO PARTS. You will notice that the LEFT is more colorful and the RIGHT is mainly decorated by Brown dried flowers. This is to ensure it gives a sense in orderly manner. Besides that, it won't look so MESSY! Another tip is that flowers should be arranged in a way that it is from shorter to taller one. So, do cut the stalk whenever you need it.

So, this is how it looks like after OJ arranged it for 30 - 45 minutes. Just try & error till it looks satisfied to you.

8. After finish the decoration, is time to tie the bouquet. Here, OJ found something quite nice. It is a rope with leaves on it. Hence OJ bought it.

9. Before OJ wrapped the stalk with the rope. OJ put a rubber band over the stalks first. It is to ensure that the bouquet OJ decorated are in good shape & won't lose it or drop it during wrapping the stalk.

Tip of the day: Please wrap it as high as possible so that it will provide you a good grip & more settled.

And here is our final products.......

Last but not least, you must be guessing how much this bouquet will be.

It costs OJ RM 147.84 (member price). It will be RM 173.40 for non-member.
