Thai-food in Malacca

K (who is a Thai) invited J to have dinner at her house. She has the authentic thaifood culinary skills. K experienced a hemorrhagic stroke and it affected her speech function and problem in identifying things. She is recovered but unable to name things. However, she picked up her culinary skills during her recovery period. J believes human brain has a special place for culinary skills in which it is protected so well that nothing can erase it from our mind. K knows the ingredients even though she can't name them.

For the two consecutive nights, OJ's stomach were loaded with thos seriously awesome Thai Foods. Those are simple dish, but taste amazing. Nothing goes wrong with home cook food.

p/s: usually before dinner, J will plan for his supper... BUT BUT.. with the above dishes, usually J's stomach will be too full for any supper... OPS!!!

We have to exercise after such an intensive "mouth workout". Jonker walk will be one of J's choices. WHY? Historical building + handcrafts + antique shops + FOODS... That's the reason to visit Jonker walk. NEVER EVER VISIT DURING PUBLIC HOLIDAY OR WEEKENDS. Too many visitors, too LIMITED parking spaces. This is Malaysia, hence please do not expect any cold breeze weather that might cheer you up. Usually, J will be soaked from head to toes by his sweat (his body is rich with sweat glands).

P/S: Why don't mess with Melaka? Sound HARSH? But it is a campaign launched in 2014 by the state for their cleanliness campaign.

P/S: Random shoot at Jonker Street... OJ did not try this Putu Piring

But for this visit, J found one of the Inside Scoop branches. They sell ice-cream. Very delicious ice-cream with unique flavor. Please check the price before you place any order. For J, he had ordered a triple scoops ice-cream, which consist of XO Cranberry, Cempedak (sort of like jackfruit) and Durian (Musang King). For Cempedak & XO Cranberry, which are premium flavor, hence J needs to add RM1.50 for each scoop. For Musang King, J needs to add on RM3. So, the total cost for this 3 scoops ice-cream will be RM18.50 + RM3 + RM3 (RM1.50 x 2) = RM24.50. Trust me, it worths every penny you spent especially the Musang King flavor. First bite, okay ja. Second bite, hmm not bad. Third bite, it is awesome. For the rest of the bite, you wil be thinking of carry one pint of it back home and enjoy it while watching some horror movie...hmmm maybe... maybe you had fall in love deeply with it...

Before OJ ended their short trip to Malacca, they need to have breakfast before heading back to Plus Highway. OJ went Mala Curry House. A place where one can find nice Indian fried noodle. OJ ordered Roti Canai, Roti Cheese, Chapati, Maggie Goreng and Mee Goreng. (Of course, these are for 4 pax!). A bit disappointed for the maggie goreng. It was soggy for J. However, the mee goreng is nice and not spicy at all. For a roti canai / cheese to taste nicer, other than the crispiness of the roti, the sauce play an important roles to level up the taste & make one crave for more. For Mala, they mixed the dal with sambal ikan bilis (Spicy Anchovies). A perfect combination of thick dal + mild fishy taste from the anchovies + sweetness of the sambal made the whole roti level up. AWESOME!!!

P/S: For J, Roshi in Maldives still the best...

P/S: Roti Cheese is BETTER than Cheese Burst Pizza

THE END!!!
